Prof. Vatavu Visits our Lab

Professor Radu-Daniel Vatavu visited our lab, delivering an inspiring seminar and engaging in exciting discussions on XR, AI, and more. We wrapped up with a visit to the stunning Su Nuraxi UNESCO site!
We had an amazing time hosting Professor Radu-Daniel Vatavu at our CG3HCI lab! His visit kicked off with an inspiring seminar at our department titled “The New Natural in Natural Human-Computer Interaction.”
In his talk, Professor Vatavu took us on a journey through the evolution of natural interaction. While gestures, voice, and eye gaze are now everyday ways of interacting with technology, exciting new frontiers in extended reality and body augmentation are pushing the boundaries of what “natural” really means. The future of human-computer interaction has never looked more exciting!
After the seminar, we had discussions about the research happening in our lab, diving into XR interfaces, explainable AI, walkability, and geometry processing. It was a great chance to share ideas and explore new possibilities for collaboration.
To wrap up the visit, we took a trip to the beautiful UNESCO site of Su Nuraxi in Barumini, an unforgettable experience that added a historical touch to an already incredible day.
A huge thank you to Professor Vatavu for joining us and for all the inspiring conversations. We can’t wait for the next opportunity to collaborate!
